Oswald Lanz

O.    Lanz  photo Oswald received his degree in Mathematics and his PhD degree in Information and Communication Technologies from the University of Trento in 2000 and 2005. He then joined the Fondazione Bruno Kessler FBK-irst (formerly ITC-irst) as a researcher, where in 2008 he became a tenured member of the Technologies of Vision (TeV) research unit. During this period, his research focused on multi-camera multi object tracking, audio-visual people tracking, head pose estimation, and visual analytics for human behavior analysis. He was actively involved in several EU funded projects (CHIL, My-e-Director, Netcarity) and projects funded by the local government of the Autonomous Province of Trento (ACube, Peach). He has been member of the technical program committee of EUSIPCO and IEEE AVSS, and serves as referee for some of the major journals in his field of interest: IEEE PAMI, CVIU, IEEE TIP, IEEE SMC, and others. He is a member of the IEEE, the IEEE Computer Society and IAPR. Since 2012 he heads the Technologies of Vision research unit of FBK. He holds two patents on video tracking.
